Spend an afternoon with Chicago author and screenwriter, Dorothy Mackevich Marks, reading from her debut novel, Les Beaux Châteaux, in a setting that mirrors the book’s title. Presented by Stuart Grannen, owner of Architectural Artifacts. In addition to reading from the novel, Dorothy will discuss the ethics of selling, and in many cases stealing, the art and cultural artifacts of one country for purchase in another.
Be sure to bring your book for Dorothy to sign; we'll have a limited number of signed copies for purchase.
Refreshments will be served. There is free parking under the L tracks behind the building; Redline L stop is Clark & Division; and #37 Sedgwick bus, Orleans & Hill stop.
This event is free; registration is required. Register now or scan the QR code to register.
Read the article that inspired the book; learn more about the historical significance of the French baguette. Join the discussion about whether artifacts should be returned to their country of origin. Check out these articles and videos.
